Welcome and Gallery Wall- Maria's Tortas Jalisco by Karla-Maria Campbell in Hamilton
Welcome and Gallery Wall- Maria's Tortas Jalisco
This mural was created for a local favourite Mexican restaurant. They requested a mural in the style of a gallery wall to highlight their most popular dish. The adjacent wall had lettering and a frame for a chalkboard.
The colouring of this mural was bold, colourful and Mexican-inspired.
I’m a Hamilton-based Latina muralist and illustrator who creates bold, colorful work inspired by Latin American culture, storytelling, and identity.
I’ve painted murals in Ontario and Alberta and love working on both indoor and outdoor walls that brighten up communities. My design style is graphic, vibrant, playful, and deeply rooted in cultural storytelling—blending bold colors, hand-drawn textures, and heartfelt details. I’m passionate about creating art that reflects the experiences of second-generation immigrants and brings people together through joyful, intentional design.
When I’m not painting or illustrating, you’ll usually find me singing, dancing, parenting, or dreaming up my next big project!
