Venice: A Celebration of Light and Motion by Tatiana Romanova in Padua

I was born in Russia and graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in psychology. I have been passionate about painting since childhood and studied at an art school. My psychological background has always encouraged me to explore the deep connections between nature and human beings, and I strive to convey this dramatic connection in my work. The depth of emotions, moods, and the state of the soul are all important to me in the creative process. My favorite activity is traveling with my sketchbook, walking through the city or nature, looking for unique light reflections, turns in the road, or the shape of a cloud that seems to want to tell its own story. I don’t strive for exact realism; for me, it’s important to capture the moment of an image’s touch, a mystery, a story, or a beauty that has moved me. I travel a lot and have visited various European countries, as well as India and the Altai Mountains. These travels inspire me to create new works and open up endless sources of inspiration in nature and culture. Currently, I am studying at a contemporary art studio, but for the most part, I am self-taught. While painting was a hobby for a long time, I have recently started devoting more time and effort to it. I am 56 years old, and I believe it’s never too late to start a new journey in art. My works adorn the homes of friends and family, and although I have not participated in professional exhibitions, I have taken part in amateur ones. My inspiration comes from nature, the subtle play of light — on clouds, reflections in water, and the light and shadow of urban landscapes.
