Venice: A Celebration of Light and Motion by Tatiana Romanova in Padua

The painting captures what I believe to be the most inspiring view of Venice’s Grand Canal—the one seen from the Accademia Bridge. Beneath its graceful arch, the emerald-green waters of the canal ripple as boats glide by, sunlight dances on the surface, and the air is filled with music and laughter. There comes a moment when everything blends into a festive whirl of sounds and colors, and it feels as if the wind rushing across the lagoon lifts you up, carrying you past the sunlit façades of Venetian palazzi, domes, and weathered walls with mooring posts for boats. The artwork is created with watercolor using the wet-on-wet technique on high-quality Fabiano watercolor paper (300 mg, 100% cotton). The format is non-standard, measuring 45 x 20 cm.
