As you can see, I’ve been playing around with all sorts of different colored sands and water found in nature. That led me to dial back and just play with value. I remember learning in art school that colors lose their saturation when you squint, have you ever noticed? Did you know that color vision deficiency affects 1 in 200 women and 1 in 12 men? Did you know that many film directors were outraged at the advent of color film? They thought color variants would destroy the artistry of cinema. I really love seeing how beautiful nature is, even stripped of hues and left only with its value.
