Urban Bushlands
The City of Bayswater decided to wake up some walls.
"Urban Bushlands" is located on the facade of four shops situated along Grande Promenade in Bedford, WA.
This vibrant mural enhances the space visually. However, most encouragingly it's an invitation for people to talk about the need to preserve our magnificent wildlife.
Within the mural you will see a kingfisher, a moaning frog, a boobook owl, a red-tailed black cockatoo and a New Holland honeyeater. And, of course, I’ve included a black swan – the emblem of Western Australia. All precious species of fauna that bring joy to many.
It is important to support the conservation of our urban bushland because native plants, birds and animals are vital to our ecosystem. The natural environment also benefits us emotionally as well as physically.
“Urban Bushlands” has certainly added more LOVE and LIFE to the shops and services. However, it’s also here to remind us about the importance of protecting local wildlife and restoring their habitat.
