This piece is my introduction into intaglio printing. When craving the image of the octopus emerging from the rocks, I used different hatching techniques and line qualities to capture shadows as well as create roundness in the body. The choice to have the entire piece solely in black ink was to further the attention given to the details throughout and primarily focus on the contrasts between light and dark.
