Untitled (Blue Skies) by Alissa Massey Studio in Los Angeles
Untitled (Blue Skies)
This is a large drawing in pastel on paper roughly the size of an average doorway. The viewer can stand in front of the piece absorbed by the rich blue skyline color and texture. This piece depicts two juniper trees poking up into the frame.
This piece or something similar could be replicated onto a smooth cement surface to create a surreal space.
Meet the Artist
Los Angeles, United StatesI love bold expressive color combined with soothing gradients and minimal geometric designs. My work includes small to large-scale paintings on paper or canvas, installations and drawings in pastel or graphite.
My skillset is rooted in representational painting and drawing (think life like realism and trompe l’oeil) and has grown into abstraction while continuing to utilize my skill set of creating life like depictions. I geek out over color combinations and the vibrations they create. I am energized by creating moments of suspended belief by using maximal color and minimal forms on painted surfaces.
I currently am working and living in Los Angeles, CA.
I earned my BFA in General Fine Art at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD in 2009 and my Masters in Fine Art at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA in 2021. My work has been included in shows around the world in Italy and South Korea, along with shows in the United States in Baltimore, New York, Santa Barbara County and Los Angeles. I have worked both privately and with corporations to achieve dream like spaces for clients.
I would love the opportunity to work together and create something beyond imagination for you and your space.
