This was inspired by the unjust holding and separation of migrant children from their caregivers at the border. The color yellow holds a strong, jovial connotation yet, it does not have the power to change an ugly truth. The horrible treatment of families at the border has been washed over by the insufferable biased words of politicians who want to save themselves from moral backlash. Pouring yellow over a suffering child is not going to change their unfortunate realities, it only makes their situation messier.
This piece will be in @lc_thecollective along with a lot of other great pieces by other artists.
Hello, I'm an artist based in the vibrant city of Portland, Oregon, where I've cultivated my passion for visual storytelling through various mediums. Armed with a Liberal Arts Degree in Studio Art from Lewis & Clark College, I've carved my artistic niche in mural art, illustration, and the fascinating world of NFTs.
My creative journey has been largely anthropic, with a profound love for painting and drawing people. Each stroke of the brush or pen captures the essence of human stories, emotions, and experiences. It's the nuanced details, the play of light on a face, or the subtle gestures that inspire me to create, breathing life into my artwork. There's an inherent beauty in the diversity of human expressions, and I find endless fascination in translating those nuances onto canvas or digital space.
In January 2022, I took a leap into the realm of NFTs with a project close to my heart. I led the development of an initiative that merges art with philanthropy, aiming to contribute to breast cancer research. The project not only showcased my technical skills but also allowed me to pitch and partner with Keep A Breast, a prominent breast cancer education and support foundation. This collaboration became a testament to the transformative power of art, as it transcends boundaries and contributes to a cause larger than ourselves.
As the lead developer, I navigated the digital landscape, curating a positive team environment and fostering strong relationships with fellow creators. Managing digital events and hosting Twitter Spaces became not just a role but a way to connect individuals worldwide, uniting them through shared experiences with breast cancer. It underscored the profound impact art can have on building communities, fostering empathy, and inspiring positive change.
Through my artistic endeavors, I've not only sought to express my personal creativity but also to create meaningful connections and make a positive impact. Art, for me, is a bridge between diverse perspectives, a language that transcends boundaries and speaks to the shared human experience. In every stroke, pixel, or moment of connection, I find joy in the transformative and unifying power of art.
