Trukadero
This was a project made for a bowling space in the heart of Nigerias capital Abuja. It showcases the beautiful and vibrant colours of the African and also infused the African hen in it.
Meet the Artist
New York, United StatesMy name is Babalola Oluwafemi i am a Fine Artist, and a major promoter of African arts. I hail from Ijumu local government area of Kogi state Nigeria with a Degree in Fine Arts (specialty in Art History). I currently run the Artmazing studios, that offers a range of services from murals, graffiti, illustrations and art consultancy.
I began my career as a makeup Artist after completing my National youth service assignment for my country in Daura,Katsina state and subsequently deciding to go into full time art practice.
Being an experimental artist, I have been mixing traditional African arts with urban arts. I am also a renowned body artist, playing with lines and African motifs to create beautiful patterns on the human skin as a canvas. I have attended lots of exhibitions and fares where you would find me doing body arts. I have also handled lots of commissioned art projects in Abuja, some of his projects can be found in well known places like Jabi boat club, Discovery museum, Trukadero, Nigerian Naval recreation center, Mcee solutions office, Savy office, and most recently the commissioned graffiti at the Queens Birthday party.
I love art and this is all I have got so that is why I seek to give it my all. Art is a voice to me, it speaks when I am out of words. It is the easiest way I pass messages on lots of issues.
I plan to contribute to my field by using art to tell my african story and discovering new and improved way to better my country and the world at large.
