Townsville Education Centre by Katie Louise Art in Townsville City
Townsville Education Centre
I collaborated with the Townsville Education Centre for this beautiful mural on the building's front doors. The artwork tells the story of the left and right brain and represents the centers offerings of tutoring and science classes. It made a massive impact from 2 plain white doors, and the children where thrilled!
Hi! I’m Katie a local Townsville Artist! I am 26 years old and a mum to my beautiful 7-year-old daughter. I love to paint beautiful bright meaningful murals around my town and the surrounding towns and suburbs travelling in my campervan! I have successfully painted 13 murals and received outstanding client relationships / reviews on each project.
I started painting murals around my local town 5 months ago after working as a nurse for the past 3 years. I took the leap into murals after being inspired by an Australian travelling artist “mural nomad” who I took on as a mentor. Soon after starting murals I quickly fell in love with the process of collaborating with someone on their design and vision and watching the positive effect my art brought to peoples homes and business's and community, people love public art! I believe art makes people stop and consider the beauty in life and when I am painting I feel into the essence of what the artwork holds and the people around me. Painting takes time away for me and I am so greatfull to have found my calling and passion. My goal is to paint better and more meaningful murals each time as I improve my skills and experience, I also want to look at teaching street art/ murals to youth one day! I would be absolutely thrilled to be considered to paint one of these gorgeous walls and really bring it to life with some bright beautiful art.
I have completed 13 small medium and large murals for private and public spaces in Townsville Queensland. These include indoor and outdoor murals, murals for small businesses in public spaces and I have received an excellent response from the community. I was invited to paint for the Royal Fire Service on Magnetic Island who stated they will endorse me for any future mural opportunities and also invited me to paint further murals for their facility later this year. I have excellent references and client reviews, a tenacious work ethic and an open mind to collaborate with others' ideas and vision. I aim to bring visions to life in a meaningful way and inspire social change through my art. I hope you consider choosing to work with me! Katie.
