Touch 2019 by Xhinvu in Texas
Touch 2019
(Apologies for the bad camera and camera angle...) Inspired by iconic Michaelangelo, this piece features human touch, as seen. This piece was created during the start of COVID-19, hence the name "touch 2019," where times were rough. Human touch seemed like it was capable of so much disaster, which it was. In the back piece canvas, I paint poured gold, silver, and light blue to mimic heavenly colors. You may ask how these two pieces resonate with each other...? The simple background behind this piece is that in times death is near by touch, for example COVID 19, the nightmare of being struck by the virus would have anyone longing to be in the afterlife in exchange to not endure pain. Especially novel pain. (Pain that comes from novel, or new things which we know nothing about...ex: the novel virus at the end of 2019.)
