In 'Time's Weight,' I explore the crushing burden of depression through a striking red, black, and white palette. A solitary figure sits entrapped behind a massive clock, its gears and hands suffocating him. The clock's dominance represents the relentless passage of time, which can feel oppressive and paralyzing for those struggling with mental health. The bold colors and stark contrast convey the intense emotional pain and sense of hopelessness that often accompany depression. Through this piece, I aim to spark crucial conversations about mental wellness and the importance of seeking support.
Meet the Artist
Asaba, NigeriaZealous, is a Nigerian-born artist who specializes in pencil drawing, digital art, and humor animation. He is passionate about drawing and uses various mediums to create inspiring arts. His works are very detailed because he has a very active imagination for his illustrations, so he captures emotion in his finished works. Despite being a professional, his work spans from various media to insanely funny animation with the express purpose of making people laugh.
