Through the Looking Key
Painted live at the Edmonton Home and Garden Show, this immersive mural was created and donated to Kids Kottage, a crisis shelter providing a safe space for children and families in need. The design features a glowing keyhole portal, opening into a magical world of transformation and hope. Monarch butterflies weave through the flowers, carrying a message of growth and renewal. Set against a deep, starry backdrop, the piece represents a journey from hardship to healing and is a fitting tribute to the vital support Kids Kottage provides.

Meet the Artist
Edmonton, CanadaI’m Ashley, a multi award winning artist from Canada and I mainly paint large scale murals. I have run my business, Illustrious Interiors, for nearly 9 years and have been painting murals for over a decade. I am a multi-dimensional artist, but particularly love painting flowers, elements of nature, and interactive pieces. I am a self-taught artist, but continuing my practice has expanded my knowledge of art and enhanced my techniques. Over the course of 9 years, I have painted well over 800 residential and commercial murals, some just under 1,000 square feet. Most indoor murals take 1 to 2 days to complete, while larger outdoor public murals take 5 to 8 days. I work closely with communities through collaborative efforts to commit to inclusivity, connections, and dynamic compositions. My work has been featured both nationally and internationally.
