Through the looking glass
This illustration is inspired by Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll and depicts the imagined scene of the three Queens gathered for tea.
It is my personal visual interpretation of the book, focusing on atmosphere rather than literal narration.
Soft, confectionery-like colors and muted pastels create a gentle, distinctly English mood, balancing fantasy and quiet irony.
The figures appear slightly detached, as if suspended between playfulness and contemplation, echoing the surreal logic of Carroll’s world.
The work combines tenderness with subtle unease, inviting the viewer into a dreamlike moment beyond time.
