They Said I'd Heal
I painted this in 2021 in my studio in Tucson. It was at the beginning of a very intense spiritual awakening. I do a birthday self-portrait every year and this one was 2021. I went off and created 3 more paintings from this. I made the spirit guides into their own paintings. As little as there is to this....haha for me any way. There is a lot to say. It is highly symbolic and as with most of my work every little detail has meaning. So I followed the advice of the hummingbird that kept visiting me, the endless butterflies that were around me, and all of the grasshoppers I kept finding. I remember when I wrote I feel better, that it felt like a joke. Even though, I did, in fact feel better after I completed this. If you can't tell blues are my favorites.

Newkirk, United StatesI am an Oklahoma based artist. I grew up in Oklahoma and just returned after 20 years. Love inspires all my work. I have been passionate about art for my entire life. I've done commissions for a few business but mostly, I've worked with private clients. I graduated suma cum laude with my degree in Fine Arts, in 2011. I have amazing technical skills. My last show was a group show at Studio Noho, in Los Angeles. It was called tiny embers, small paintings with big ideas. Through the years I have been working mainly in surrealism. Which, I fell in love with thanks to Kay Sage, Dali, and Frida. I would love to work on something for you.
