The Weight of Innocence by Laaly felma in Kanniyakumari
The Weight of Innocence
A deep dive into texture and tonal range. This portrait was a challenge in capturing "soft" features—the subtle transition of light across the cheeks and the damp texture of the hair—while maintaining the sharp, glassy reflection in the eyes. I utilized a heavy application of carbon pencil for the background to achieve a true matte black, allowing the graphite highlights to pop.
