The truce.

I feel like every painting I do is a love letter. This one I did for my boyfriend. I love painting him, and I always use my own photos as reference. I took this one the day we saw each other again after summer, since he works abroad. I picked him up from the airport and he fell asleep beside me the moment we got home. I remember that year being particularly difficult for me, and being with him felt like a truce, even if it was just for a day. That's why I usually paint him touched by a soft golden light. That's what he looks like to me. Something about you makes everything beautiful and I've never found the mundane so magical. I love you dearly.
