The Seven Teachings and The Three Fires
This mural is at the Grand rapids public museum Michigan's Oldest Museum. I had the honor of being selected to create this 180sq foot mural outside of the Anishnaabe exhibit opening October 2026. The mural is located on the 3rd floor of the museum directly across from the Clock. I used acrylic on primed wall panel I was assigned to. This piece used around 1/2 gallon of paints. I finished the mural off with a shimmer varnish along the water to give it's motion of the ocean effect. This piece hold many discussions about the Anishnaabe Creation and teachings.
Meet the Artist
Flint, United StatesI am an Abstract indigenous artist. I have making showcase pieces since 1999. I am a tribal member affiliated with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Peoples. I love the earth and I love color! Many of my pieces come from my culture and my Ojibwe name "Red Thunder Cloud Woman" which is the light within the storm. I love plants and all of nature's creatures so with every piece it is my goal to bring the light to the room.
