The Longhouse, Kilmarnock by ckstudio in Glasgow
The Longhouse, Kilmarnock
A multi-wall abstract mural wrapping the outdoor terrace space. Bold geometric colour fields — cobalt, coral, teal and yellow — are layered with delicate white botanical line drawings, creating an energetic yet summery atmosphere that brings the whole space to life.
Meet the Artist
Glasgow, United KingdomMy name is Christian, I am a Scottish artist and muralist from Kilmarnock with a background in fine art and illustration. My practice combines classical technique with contemporary storytelling creating works that are visually striking and emotionally resonant
Over the past several years, I have developed a wide portfolio that spans gallery drawings, fine art paintings and large-scale public murals. I have produced commissioned murals for clients including Buzzworks Holdings and Yardworks across Ayrshire and Glasgow. I also created the large-scale Gaia billboard mural for COP26 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital themed around Mother Nature and environmental consciousness. My freelance illustration work has also included projects with DreamWorks Animation Studio and the BBC.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to place-making and cultural storytelling. I believe murals are not just decoration, but anchors for memory, identity and pride within a community. Each project I undertake is rooted in research, symbolism and local resonance, ensuring the final piece belongs to its environment as much as to the canvas or wall it inhabits.
As an artist, l am fascinated by myth, symbolism and history, and I seek to translate these timeless narratives into works that feel fresh, accessible and meaningful. Through my practice l am dedicated to bringing large-scale, high-quality public art into Scottish spaces, enriching communities with works that are bold, thoughtful and enduring.
