The mural serves as an educational and artistic journey through the history of music, with each significant stage in musical evolution represented by a prominent musician, or composer. The mural is designed to chronicle the progression of music over time, illustrating the shifts in musical styles and genres. The left side of the mural predominantly focuses on the modern pop-rock era and the electric world of contemporary music. In contrast, the right side pays tribute to the classical era, featuring a spectrum of composers and musicians spanning from the Baroque period to contemporary classical artists. A substantial portion of the mural also celebrates the contributions of Australian talents and indigenous musical heritage. Each featured musician and composer is accompanied by a musical composition written in notes, artistically arranged around their likeness. These compositions are specific to the individual they honour. A unique interactive element allows musician visitors to walk along the corridor with an instrument, enabling them to play each song by reading the musical notes, enhancing the immersive experience of the artwork. Additionally, all the songs featured in the painting can be heard while watching the time-lapse video that documents the mural's creation. The mural's ceiling complements the overall theme by depicting the sky's transformation from dawn to morning, day clouds evolving into a sunset, and finally, a star-studded night sky with a full moon, creating a continuous circle that transitions back to dawn. The ceiling's final touches will be completed by students from the school who will hang real instruments, each matching the colours of the sky above and resonating with either daytime or nighttime themes.
