The Devoid
I painted this in 2021 in my studio in Tucson. It was towards the end of the year. After quite some turbulence. I had fallen in love with the writer, Mr. Snow. He broke my heart. I had lost a child. While quitting my very stable job of 6 1/2 years. While finding out that the man I had known as my father figure growing up had passed away. While also dealing with the sudden disappearance of the muse. Needless to say, I was going through it. While sitting outside crying in the rain, there were butterflies. A cyclone of butterflies. Directly over my head. It was pure magic. An experience to pull me back from the edge. A miracle. This was about all of that during the cat and crow series.

Meet the Artist
Newkirk, United StatesI am an Oklahoma based artist. I grew up in Oklahoma and just returned after 20 years. Love inspires all my work. I have been passionate about art for my entire life. I've done commissions for a few business but mostly, I've worked with private clients. I graduated suma cum laude with my degree in Fine Arts, in 2011. I have amazing technical skills. My last show was a group show at Studio Noho, in Los Angeles. It was called tiny embers, small paintings with big ideas. Through the years I have been working mainly in surrealism. Which, I fell in love with thanks to Kay Sage, Dali, and Frida. I would love to work on something for you.
