The Design of Rhythm by Sara Mayo in Denver

Painted piano for a public art event "Pianos About Town" in Fort Collins, CO. Inspired by the history of the piano and its musical genres coinciding with architectural ornamentation paralleling those eras. From ornate 18th century Classical and Baroque ornamentation to Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern linear elements, my intent is to create a playful, yet beautiful representation of coinciding musical genres: Classical, Baroque, Ragtime, Blues, Jazz & Rock. You may notice the archways of a classic Wurlitzer juke box, as well as Bourbon St. lampposts. My use of blues, greens, and reds hope to capture the moods of these genres as well.
