The Crocodile by Leo Shallat in Seattle
The Crocodile
This mural was commissioned by the Belltown Corridor, a mural initiative in Seattle, WA responsible for creating a body of new public art in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood. The Crocodile is a historic music venue in the city so I took lyrics from one of my favorite song I saw preformed live and turned them into a mandala design that stretched the entirety of the wall. This design features more of my calligraphic style of mural work and spans roughly 60ft wide by 22ft tall.
Meet the Artist
Seattle, United StatesI’m a Seattle-based artist who works on a variety of projects from custom paintings to murals, and installations. I’ve been working as a full time artist since 2017 when I received a full year scholarship to study with renown calligraphy master Paul Antonio Attong. I work with a variety of commercial art clients from art consultants to interior designers and architects. My work is abstract and I love depicting flow and movements through expressive gestures and deconstructed calligraphic forms.
