The Courtship of Monals by @subhasis07 in Varanasi
The Courtship of Monals
This expansive wall mural offers an intimate, highly stylized glimpse into the natural world, capturing a tender moment of connection between a pair of Himalayan Monals. Grounded by a sweeping, serpentine mossy branch, the composition hinges on the distinct visual contrast between the two birds. The male monal is a striking display of iridescent artistry, rendered with rich jewel tones of deep blue, vivid green, a fiery copper neck, and a brilliant burst of orange tail feathers. He leans in toward the female, whose plumage is depicted with meticulous, earth-toned texturing that mirrors the camouflaged beauty of the forest floor. Their near-touching beaks form the emotional and physical apex of the artwork.
Flanking the central subjects is a beautifully framed botanical ecosystem. The left side is lush and dense with deeply layered, ribbed green fronds and tropical foliage, while the right side softens into ethereal, pale blue silhouettes of distant trees, suggesting a misty, high-altitude alpine atmosphere. By balancing rich, illustrative detail with a clean, minimalist background, the mural transforms the wall into a breathable, organic sanctuary, seamlessly bringing the serene spirit of the wilderness into an architectural space.
Meet the Artist
Varanasi, IndiaI believe the most powerful visual stories are born at the intersection of deep empathy and uncompromising discipline. As an Artist, Graphic Designer, and Photographer, I see my work as a way to find order in complexity. My work is driven by a simple but stubborn philosophy: lead with empathy, create with obsession, and never compromise on the integrity of the vision.
For me, the goal is maximum impact through minimal noise. By bridging the gap between human emotion and digital precision, I ensure every pixel carries weight, and every investment yields its highest possible return.
