The birth of venus
I’ve always been inspired by Renaissance art, especially The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli. The grace and elegance of that painting deeply moved me, which is why I recreated it in graphite.
Graphite and charcoal are my favorite mediums. I enjoy bringing a sophisticated mood using just black and white, exploring how much emotion and depth can be created with limited colours.

Meet the Artist
Bengaluru, IndiaMy name is Janaki Priya. My artistic journey began with the biggest inspiration in my life — my mother, who is an artist herself. Watching her create sparked something in me from a young age.
During the lockdown, I started drawing more seriously, and I even sold a few of my works on NFT platforms. That experience gave me the confidence to believe that art was not just a hobby, but my path.
Most of my works revolve around themes of the feminine, the divine, and wildlife. I’ve always been deeply inspired by Renaissance art, especially The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli. I admire its grace and elegance, which inspired me to recreate it in graphite.
Graphite and charcoal are my favorite mediums. I love the challenge of expressing depth, emotion, and sophistication using just black and white. I believe limitation in colour can create limitless mood.
