The Beginning of the Dream by Gledisa in Toronto

This painting is inspired by a dream I found myself waking up in for about a month. I woke up in the middle of the ocean, a wave hurling towards me. This painting represents the very first dream. Before I could even act, I found myself beneath the crushing embrace of this hurling wave. Panicking below the surface I did not know how to get out! Each time I was in the dream, I was further and further away from the wave which gave me the opportunity to strategize on how to get out of there. Soon as I saw the way, I dove beneath the surface and swam until I reached this door. I went through, and there on the other side, my sister and my niece waited for me on the plush green grass. And that was that.
