Meet the Artist
England, United KingdomI am an illustrator who specialises in hand-crafted illustrations using a mixture of traditional materials such as gouache, pencil crayons and brush pens. I love being able to tell stories through images - and have completed projects in picture books, short form zine collections and reportage drawing within the previous year. I don’t often limit myself in materials or processes when it comes to approaching a project, but my priority is always to tell a story through my work.
Although my passions lie in traditional image making, I am skilled in both traditional image making and in digital, having used Adobe softwares such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator whilst completing my degree. I am also familiar with many print processes such as lino, screen-printing and risograph.
In 2023, I was awarded with the Julia Midgley Reportage Travel Award, which granted me the funds to complete a trip abroad to sit and draw from life for a week. Being awarded for reportage drawing, something which has been a priority in progressing my practice in the past year, has been both extremely encouraging and useful for my skills. I am in the process of collating and presenting this work in an exhibition at the University which I have recently graduated from.
