Strung Out

After a happy day surfing waves on the Atlantic Ocean, my mind was in need of some creative time. I turned on some music, and "Strung Out" by the artist Ruby Empress played first. This piece was born. I sat with my sharpies and Prismacolor pencils for a little over two hours and layered on shapes, lines, and colors. I found that when mixed with white pencil and black sharpie, the red colored background made an almost iridescent blue. This allowed my to layer the composition with ease and create depth. Most customers can relate to this piece, as it is relatable on so many levels; whether that be anger, pain, irritation, or even revolution.
