Still-life with the Chinese vase by Ninni in Helsinki

Trained as an artist in my home country Finland and later in the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, I’m using the same method studied by the masters of the 19th century. The roots of this classical painting and drawing method are in the Academic tradition and Renaissance. My drawings and paintings and sculptures are mainly based on direct observation of nature. I do use photography sometimes as a tool in my art making process. Especially when I’m paiting/ drawing flora and fauna. I’m expert in the drawing and painting materials and I use also sometimes traditional gilding technique as part of my paintings. I love to paint/draw the model and I have done many portrait commissions for Helsinki University, Orion, the Finnish Defence forces etc. I have been working as a Visual artist since 2003.
