Space Heist by Breanne in New York

Space Heist

This piece was developed from a scene in Ocean’s 11 where Matt and George are working their way through an elaborate heist. This is a secure facility, will they be able to break-in? They open the “space,” which is represented as outer space; have a laugh, it’s tongue-in-cheek. These images are represented in a monochromatic technique that is commonly used in street art. This piece is hand painted by fragmenting the image into a series of shapes and colours. The contrast of style between the figures and the open space creates tension that draws the viewer in. The texture of the corrugated surface has a playful effect of making the figures move on the surface. Stand close and walk from right to left of the piece and watch them move on top of the surface.
