Sister by Chanelle Chambers in Lake Coogee

This one was a surprise painting for my sister. She had an incredibly large space in her living area that needed filled so naturally, I had to fill it! Like most people, I knew she wouldn't feel comfortable with a forward facing portrait so I took images of her wedding dress shopping and used those along with some of her sentiments and sentiments between her and I. The owl is for our mutual love of Harry Potter. The neons and fuchsia are for a jumpsuit she used to wear when she was younger. The teal, purple and blues, colours she had wanted to incorporate in the space. This piece was the largest I have created at 2.5 x 2 mtrs and took me around 35 hours to complete. It's now the first thing you see as you walk into her Melbourne home.
