Meet the Artist
New York, United StatesDarius is a commercial sign and mural painter that hangs from the
sides of buildings nationwide while creating realistic advertising
campaigns with brushes. In addition to advertising Darius operates
his own community mural opportunities where he strategizes the
execution of neighborhood murals that support beautification in the
name of equity and various humanitarian issues.
In the past 5 years Darius has worked as a commercial sign painter
at Colossal Media which services a majority of the top twenty luxury
and high-end brands in the country.
Separately, Darius' personal mural achievements have been recognized
on multiple occasions by the New York Times, WTTW, NPR and other
national news sources. Darius' personal work continues to push the
envelope between mural and monument, beacon of the past or sign of
the times. Darius is always attempting to use the medium of painting as
a powerful device that not only changes our perception of space but
attempts to embrace our spirits in a gentle manner.
Recently Darius has achieved this goal by blurring the lines of visual-
education tools, sign painting and activism. By using paintings to create
safe spaces for thinking, teaching and feeling Darius intends to do his
part in contributing to the relevance of big mural painting in his hometown
of Chicago and cities all over the world.
