She who ruled time by VeronikArt in Mandurah

This painting has a deep meaning to me and is highly symbolic. I had a dream one night where I saw a girl sitting on a clock and watching over a green archipelago. When I woke up I thought that the peninsula in my dream was Cape Town, even though I have never been there. The mountains you see in the painting are, however, inspired, by the nature on the other side of the globe - Norway. Since the image emerged from the deepest corners of my imagination, I believe it has something to do with my lack of power to control time and my longing for it. I could not pick a title for her: "She who ruled time " / "Golden hour" / "Relativity" / " Memories of the future", just because one single title can't describe it all. It comes from a feeling of weightlessness and at the same time knowing that you are in control of your destiny and your own king/queen. It is about swimming above the mundane and the every day life. I dedicate it to the dreamers and believers. Birds symbolise freedom to me and so does the wind in the girl's hair. I also wish to believe that Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" has influenced this painting indirectly (I first saw his painting during my teenagerhood and admire it still in my adulthood; however, I was not thinking about it the days before I had the dream. The dream itself resurfaced from a different place, not a memory). I leave it to you to interpret it further.
