RI Philharmonic Music School
In January 2025, I produced a design for a mural in the Music School atrium to welcome visitors, which was selected out of a pool of 15 submissions in the RISD Class “The Craft of Making Murals”. The client was looking for a welcome mural which showcased the diverse range of musicians within the orchestra and school, the school’s connection with the community, as well as the three venues at which the orchestra performs.
I revised the design based on client specifications and went on to install the mural with the help of fellow artists in the class.
Meet the Artist
Algonac, United StatesHi! I’m Amelia, I’m from Michigan, and I'm a motivated young illustrator, designer, and muralist with a passion for visual communication and problem solving. I hold degrees in Illustration and Environmental Science from the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University.
I'd love to bring your idea to reality! I have a particular passion for projects involving children's illustration, humor, and nature. I'm also looking in particular for mural work right now. Above all, my interdisciplinary background has encouraged me to be CURIOUS (!!!) about the world around me. Drawing from that, I strive to bring a spirit of wonder and play to how I approach my topics of artistic inquiry, ranging from Romanian poetry to local food systems.
For illustrations, sketches, and portraits, I can work in the following mediums: oil, acrylic gouache, ink, graphite, digital, pastel, and oil pastel.
