Rhythms of 105th
This is a mural I did with Thrive Collective outside of Park East High School in Harlem. I worked with the students to brainstorm ideas relating to the theme of “Purpose, Preparation, Pride”, which is their school motto. This wall represents both the students and staff of the school as well as the people of the neighborhood, paying homage to the rich history and culture of El Barrio.
Meet the Artist
Jersey City, United StatesI went to school to study illustration and graduated with a BFA from Fashion Institute of Technology. I am at my core and illustrator but since then I have worked for 3 years as a contracted mural artist for a non profit based in NYC. My role in this collective is as a lead artist as well as a teaching artist. I work with schools and various community organizations to create classroom sessions where I teach the mural process from start to finish to people of all ages. I am very comfortable teaching the painting process. I have also recently just started teaching paint n sips per my clients requests! I love painting people, animals and plants and have recently been traveling to paint murals in Austin Texas :)
