Residental Care Home Mural by Jay MT in Barcelona
Residental Care Home Mural
Created in a residential care home for people with complex physical and cognitive disabilities, this mural was designed to bring warmth and inspiration into an otherwise plain environment. For the young woman living in the room beside the wall, the tall triste white wall was her main sight, so the artwork transformed her view into a personal “happy place.”
Inspired by the things she loves — lush gardens, playful animals, her favourite fluffy toys, and the little penguins of St Kilda — the scene turns a blank wall into a joyful landscape just outside her window.
The mural quickly became a shared point of curiosity and comfort for other residents as well, bringing colour, imagination, and a sense of connection into the home.
