Ramones Tribute Mural New York by CRISP in Sydney
Ramones Tribute Mural New York
This tribute wall honored "The Ramones" the band that grew up and went to school in this neighbourhood of Forest Hills, Queens, NYC, USA. It was commissioned by the Forest Hills Stadium that hosts many popular bands and used to host the US open tennis tournament. They wanted a mural to welcome visitors coming to the concerts from the train station where the mural was painted.
Meet the Artist
Sydney, AustraliaInternational street artist who is based in Sydney, Australia. He has been participating in art shows, festivals and the vibrant urban art scene around the world since 2009. He specializes in the stencil technique and has formed a unique and beautiful combination of freestyle coloring and stencil which really makes his murals pop and standout from the crowd. His love of nature and the evolution of organic life is strongly depicted in his animal and fauna pieces. These murals bring nature back into the cites and highlights their loss and dislocation in urban environments. He has also been involved in many murals as tributes to people, places and history. For example a Ramones tribute mural in Queens NYC where the band grew up and more recently a Helen Keller tribute mural in New York.
