My name is Shaylen, I am an abstract artist based in Denver CO. I received my BFA in Interior Design from SCAD in 2011. I went on to work for a large Architecture and Design Firm in the Hospitality Department until early 2014. In March of 2014, I began my career as a visual Artist. I have worked for 7 years as an independent artist, creating custom work for private clients as well as corporate clients such as Hyatt House, Capital One, Virginia Commonwealth University, and many other small businesses, and art consultants. My work is included in private collections all over the world including Germany, Australia, Spain, London, Canada, and Mexico. In addition, I have completed 15 corporate-funded mural projects working with volunteer groups in local public schools and other nonprofits, as well as participating in several Mural Festivals such as the RVA Street Art Festival, and Something In The Water in VA Beach. Overall I have worked on over 40 Mural projects within the past 7 years. My work is abstract, yet highly influenced by nature. I enjoy taking inspiration from the patterns in natural elements and creating an eye-catching design that is interesting and relative to the overall concept of the project. Placemaking is not only what I went to school for but it is my passion.
