Queen of the Night by Angel Arts by Searra in Chicago

She is a young woman from Chicago's south-side named Searra who has been painting since 2015 with no past education in the art field. She started painting really as a form of therapy for herself since she had been trying to find some way to relax versus a bunch of pain meds that her doctors prescribed over the years. Her paintings are stories that she is able to tell using a rich color palette to create each piece with emotion. Every stroke she makes is a burst of happiness and relaxation to her. Her art gives her a way to express herself in a unique way that can link people from all different backgrounds. Art gives her the freedom to turn her pain into something beautiful that can bring people together, whether they come from a world of art, a world faith, a world of music or any other backgrounds. With the many obstacles of health in her life she feels that her art is a true form of therapy better than any medicine available. And she hopes it can help others feel that anything is possible as well.
