Queen of Heads by Rude in Philadelphia
Queen of Heads
This piece is a different depiction of Greek mythology . Usually the picture of this specific pose is of Perseus beheading Medusa. But I always felt with her power overrides any hero that’s tried to kill her . So in this painting , I decided that she is beheading Perseus making it more of an accurate time piece in my eyes . I used acrylic paint , heavy body acrylic to create the effects of scales on the head and body , as well as granulated mixed medium creating a frozen stone effect for Perseus’s head . And Gold foil leafing around the edges of canvas to make it have a more ancient or gilded effect.

Meet the Artist
Philadelphia, United StatesI’m a Jersey born 💚acrylic painter living in Philly , currently more involved in mixed medias and textures on canvas . I love creating “please touch me” effects and out of world experiences on a canvas, multi-layered ideas that includes crystal effects, fluorescent paints that activate under black light and mixed media that allows you to present art to be touched and not just looked at . Eyes are my favorite to paint , horror and gore as well as different two dimensional and space art , and some of our favorite music and lyrics combined into art .
