Queen of Bees by Kat in New South Wales

I’m a full-time artist and illustrator based in Greater Sydney, NSW. I’ve always been drawn to the natural world, especially plants, animals and all the little details and patterns you find in nature. Not surprisingly, they tend to find their way into my work too. I’ve been painting murals professionally since 2017, and over the years my art has ended up on the walls of childcare centres, hospitals and clinics, cafés and restaurants, businesses and private homes. I love murals because they can completely change the feeling of a space. My style is colourful, detailed and often a little whimsical, with a particular love for Australian flora and fauna. I work mainly with paint and brush, but also create digital illustrations and original artwork on canvas and paper. I’ve also illustrated a children’s book, “Ollie the Octopus and His Magnificent Brain”, creating the covers and more than 15 illustrations for the story and accompanying activities.
