"Pot Luck" resonates well with my childhood memories when I was 10 years old (OMG..!!! That's 42 Years Ago). The spirit of "Gotong Royong" which means communal assistance.Hari Raya is a festive season for Muslims, missing out this kampong spirit of togetherness. It has lost through time with the advent of urbanisation and digitalisation. This visual helps to ease that missing out emotion.
Are we able to bring back the spirit of "Gotong Royong" again..???
What inspires me in doing art is the everyday objects that I observed surrounding me. Environment. Nature. People. Culture. Fashion.
A self-taught artist, Art R’eev transforms “Trash Into Treasure” in his mixed media works. He finds creative ways to reuse materials and conserve resources to address issues of environmental change, and the concepts of up-cycling and recycling are central to his practice. What may have been regarded as ‘ugly’ is now turned into the beautiful in Art R’eev’s colourful and energetic abstract works.
