My client requested a portrait of her beloved family dog, Jaxx. Jaxx is a Morkipoo known for his soft curly fur and excitable demeanor. We decided on a reference photo to use, focusing on lighting and composition. We decided to change the background to create a classic portraiture feel. The piece is 12”x14” painted with acrylic paint and finished with a glossy varnish.

My name is Adrian, I graduated from York University in 2021 with a degree in Visual Arts and Art History. I love to paint and mostly use acrylics. My favourite things to paint are landscapes and pet portraits. I use to make my landscapes look lively with bold colors and brushstrokes, and I like to capture the unique personalities of each pet in my portraits. I'm excited to keep creating new and meaningful works and I'm always looking for new inspiration.
