This illustration was commissioned as an EP cover for an indie musician. Sonically, there's an offbeat psychedelic feel to the song, a Pink Floyd lineage at play. Lyrically, the song is about a haunting death. I relied on a juxtaposition of widely recognized symbols and poisonous plants to convey the complexity with a balance of clarity and subtlety. In terms of process, I always work traditionally to start off. I draw in pencil on bristol. Once the art is approved, I ink and color digitally to facilitate easy edits.
