Peace! I am a soft pastel artist - using pure pigment that has very little binder - with “nuanced realism” and a spirited dash Impressionism that is aimed at capturing the soul of a person and the essence of place. With bold marks and glorious hues, I paint portraits, landscapes, and still life. The advantages of pastel paintings are that they do not yellow, crack, or fade over time like other artistic media, and the archival / museum-grade papers I use allow for many layers of color to be visible. Pastels are framed behind anti-glare glass and are beautiful to look at for years to come.
