Pop Peranakan by Bbblob in London
Pop Peranakan
Pop Peranakan is commissioned by The Working Capitol, a co working space in Keong Saik. It was created for YouTrip’s office. The mural features an abstract landscape symbolising the eclectic heritage of Peranakan shophouses. Peranakan-inspired patterns decorate the contemporary forms to create a pop collage look. Modern landmarks are interwoven within the landscape to illustrate the harmony between the old and new landmarks. The mural is a tribute to the heritage and landscape of local architecture.
Meet the Artist
London, United KingdomJacelyn is a visual artist and designer from Singapore. Under her moniker Bbblob, her works explore harmony in form and colour. Bright, vivid and organic shapes interacting with one another to represent our relationship with ourselves and others. Making works that capture the transient nature of emotions. She has created murals for brands such as YouTrip and initiatives such as Making Waves SG. One of her public mural projects commissioned by Orchard Central in collaboration with Mural Lingo was longlisted by World Illustrations Awards 2021. Through her works she hopes to bring an uplifting mood and a sense of balance to others.
