Playerlands - Pyro
The global in-game purchase operating systems company, Playerlands, wanted to bring some excitement to one of their new office spaces. Being official associates with the game producers themselves gave us the opportunity to use promotional material and graphics directly from the games, giving us great materials right from the start.
Apart from their vinyl logo placed in the centre, the wall was a massive 55 square metre blank canvas and so it really was calling out for some loud and colourful features to break it up. So that’s what we did, literally broke up the white space with a collage effect which also then had each frame broken by a pictorial element breaking out of the scene. The design was able to incorporate a section from several of the games that Playerlands work with and try to highlight the variety of platforms that they cover.
Due to the room dimensions, also not having a wide angle lens at the time, it was impossible to photograph the whole wall in its entirety. So, this image is only one section of the wall which was divided into 6 image areas and 1 text area. The image was my favourite one and the character is Pyro from the game Team Fortress 2, all design credits go to their team as this was a a replication job.
