Aloha! My name is Carly. Art has always been my sanctuary where the outside world quiets and my mind is completely free. I am inspired by nature, especially the ocean, from having amazing opportunities to work in the dive industry and environmental conservation in places with beautiful wildlife. I am always in the water, whether surfing, freediving, or SCUBA diving. For traditional art– pen to paper– I would describe my art style as “surreal hyperrealism”– depicting things as they appear true-to-life but with a twist, like absurd proportions or colors, to tell a story. For art meant to be a collaboration of my talent with your unique vision, such as interior decoration, livening up a public space, or giving you a cherished memento, I lean into my ability to depict something hyperrealistically while preserving the magic– brushstrokes, texture, extra dramatic lighting– that makes a customized art piece hit differently. Finally, pricing on this site does not reflect my pricing (this website asks for per hour or a flat rate, and my prices are either by square foot for murals, or they vary depending on the size, medium, and subject matter/intricacy of the artwork).
