I am a classically trained figurative realist oil painter. I studied with Nelson Shanks and Jeremy Lipking. I draw in charcoal, graphite and crayon. I love working with portraiture, figure and landscape. I'm an experienced teacher. I work en plein air, from life, from photos and in the studio. My style ranges from classical, through 1900th century naturalism and impressionism into contemporary realism. Some of my favorite artists at the moment are Pontormo, Vermeer, Gauguin and Sorolla. I love art that expresses soulful beauty and human depth and sensitivity.
