Oaxacan Traditions
I had the privilege of co-creating this stunning mural with Josué López that beautifully captures the essence of Oaxacan traditions. This project holds a special significance as it pays homage to the town's rich cultural heritage, where Don Julio and his wife, the restaurant proprietors, were born. Our artwork aimed to honor and celebrate the traditions that define Oaxacan culture.
Meet the Artist
Seattle, United StatesHi, I'm Valeria, a Seattle-based muralist and visual artist with over a decade of experience exploring diverse creative mediums. I've fallen in love with the transformative power of murals, completing many projects that bring color and meaning to the city.
What inspires me most is the opportunity to tell stories through art. My approach goes beyond creating visually stunning pieces—it's about capturing the heart of the community and celebrating its diversity. I believe every project is a collaboration, and I take pride in listening to and weaving the voices and perspectives of others into my work.
For me, art is more than a skill; it's a form of connection, self-expression, and discovery. Whether through bold strokes or vibrant hues, I strive to create works that spark joy, reflect authenticity, and leave a lasting impact.
