Nine Kois by ENNICOLOR in Berlin

Nine Kois

Inspired by the Chinese saying "年年有余" (Nián Nián Yǒu Yú), which translates to "May you have abundance in life year after year," we decided to paint nine koi fishes. This phrase is commonly exchanged as a greeting during the Chinese New Year celebration. The character 余 "yú," signifying surplus or abundance, shares the same pronunciation as the character 鱼 "yú," meaning fish. Consequently, the fish is often symbolically associated with abundance and serves as a good luck symbol for a prosperous new year.
